Delete Your Skanyx Account

Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately. Choose the method below that matches how you signed up.

Skanyx is developed by MB "Skanyx", a Lithuanian company (registration code 307587806).

Deletion is permanent. Once you confirm, your data cannot be recovered, by you or by Skanyx support. Cancel your subscription first if you have an active Pro plan.

Option 1: Delete from your account on the web (fastest)

If you can sign in, this takes under a minute. Your data is gone the moment you confirm.

Steps:

  1. Sign in at skanyx.com/account
  2. Scroll to the Delete Account section at the bottom
  3. Type DELETE in the confirmation box (uppercase, exactly)
  4. Click Delete Account. Your account is gone.

Removal is immediate. There is no 30-day grace period.

Option 2: Delete from the Skanyx mobile app

Same outcome as Option 1, done from your phone. Use this if you signed up through the App Store or Google Play.

Steps:

  1. Open the Skanyx app on iOS or Android
  2. Go to Settings, then Account
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Type DELETE to confirm (uppercase, exactly)

Your account is deleted immediately.

Option 3: Locked out? Use our verified deletion form

If you cannot sign in (lost email, lost password, locked account), submit a request through our deletion form. You will see a confirmation code on screen. Because we cannot verify your identity without a sign-in, our team reviews each request manually and confirms by email before deleting. We complete verified requests within 30 days, per GDPR Article 12.

Also lost access to your original email? Email support@skanyx.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and we will verify your identity through other means.


What we delete (and cannot recover)

Confirming deletion permanently removes the following from Skanyx servers. We cannot recover any of it, even with a support ticket:

  • Your email address, name, and avatar
  • Every vehicle profile (make, model, year, VIN, nickname, mileage)
  • Every diagnostic scan and fault code report you ran
  • Every Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) report you generated, including shared public URLs
  • Every Health Monitor scan and score
  • Every Failure Prediction report
  • Your full AI chat history with the Skanyx assistant
  • Every photo you uploaded, including PPI inspection photos
  • Saved preferences, app settings, and push notification tokens
  • Active sign-in sessions on every device (web, iOS, Android)

What is retained (and why)

A small set of records stays for legal, accounting, and security reasons. After deletion, this data is stripped of personal identifiers, no email, no name, no VIN, so it can no longer be linked back to you.

  • Anonymized transaction records, retained for 7 years to comply with the Lithuanian Law on Accounting and the EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC.
  • Crash logs and error reports, retained up to 90 days in anonymized form to improve service quality.
  • Aggregate usage statistics, retained indefinitely in fully anonymized form for product analytics.
  • Legal correspondence, retained as required by applicable law (typically 3 to 10 years depending on jurisdiction).

None of these records contains personal identifiers. We physically cannot connect them back to you.


Cancel your subscription first (or you will keep getting charged)

Account deletion does not cancel a Skanyx Pro subscription. If you delete first and your Pro plan keeps renewing, you will be charged for a plan you no longer have access to. Cancel through the store you bought it from before deleting.

  • App Store subscribers: Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Skanyx, then Cancel Subscription.
  • Google Play subscribers: Google Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Skanyx, then Cancel subscription.
  • Web subscribers: sign in at skanyx.com/account and cancel from the Billing section.

After cancelling, Pro features stay active until your current billing period ends. Then your account drops to the free tier.


Your data protection rights (EU users)

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction covered by GDPR, you have additional rights beyond account deletion:

  • Right of access: request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to restrict processing: ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: file a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Lithuania, this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI) at vdai.lrv.lt.
