Delete Your Skanyx Account

Skanyx gives you full control over your account and data. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using one of the methods below.

Skanyx is developed by MB "Skanyx", a Lithuanian company (registration code 307587806).

Option 1: Delete directly in your account (fastest)

If you can sign in to your Skanyx account, this is the fastest way to delete everything.

Steps:

  1. Sign in at skanyx.com/account
  2. Scroll to the Delete section
  3. Type DELETE in the confirmation box
  4. Click Delete Account and confirm

Your account is removed immediately.

Option 2: Delete from the Skanyx mobile app

You can also delete your account directly from the app on your phone.

Steps:

  1. Open the Skanyx app on iOS or Android
  2. Go to Settings, then Account
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE

Your account is deleted immediately.

Option 3: Use our secure deletion form

If you no longer have access to your account (for example, you lost access to the email you signed up with), submit a request through our deletion form. You will get a confirmation code on screen. Because we cannot verify your identity automatically without a sign-in, our support team will reach out to confirm before completing the deletion, within 30 days of your request as required by GDPR Article 12.

If you do not have access to your original email, also write to support@skanyx.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" so we can verify your identity and complete the deletion.


What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from Skanyx servers and cannot be recovered:

  • Your email address and profile information
  • All vehicle profiles (make, model, year, VIN, nicknames, mileage)
  • All diagnostic scan history and fault code reports
  • All Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) reports and shared public URLs
  • All Health Monitor scan history and scores
  • All Failure Prediction reports
  • AI chat conversation history
  • Photos you uploaded, including PPI inspection photos
  • Saved preferences, settings, and notification tokens
  • Active authentication sessions across all devices

What is retained (and why)

Some data must be kept for legal, accounting, or security compliance reasons. This data is anonymized after account deletion and cannot be used to identify you personally.

  • Anonymized transaction records, retained for 7 years to comply with the Lithuanian Law on Accounting and the EU VAT Directive 2006/112/EC.
  • Crash logs and error reports, retained up to 90 days in anonymized form to improve service quality.
  • Aggregate usage statistics, retained indefinitely in fully anonymized form for product analytics.
  • Legal correspondence, retained as required by applicable law (typically 3 to 10 years depending on jurisdiction).

None of this retained data contains personal identifiers such as your email, name, or vehicle VIN.


Cancel your subscription before deleting

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. If you have an active Skanyx Pro subscription, please cancel it first to avoid being charged after deletion.

  • Apple App Store subscribers: Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Skanyx, and Cancel Subscription.
  • Google Play subscribers: Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Skanyx, and Cancel.
  • Web subscribers: Sign in at skanyx.com/account and manage billing from your account settings.

Once your subscription is cancelled, you can keep using Pro features until the end of your current billing period.


Your data protection rights (EU users)

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction covered by GDPR, you have additional rights beyond account deletion:

  • Right of access: request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to restrict processing: ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: file a complaint with your national data protection authority. In Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI) at vdai.lrv.lt.
